Six years ago, my husband brought home a birthday gift for me that left me starry-eyed for a long, long time. I fell in love with it the instant I held it. It also kept me company to a lot of places. I worked as a lifestyle editor for a health and lifestyle magazine, which means I’d be in the company of seasoned photographers whenever I’d leave the office to do an assignment. My favorite moment would be the post-interview when I’d take out the birthday gift I so cherish (to this day) and explore the world on my own.
