Over the years, women from all corners of the world have optimized blogging and social media platforms to discuss important matters concerning women, children, maternal health, and labor rights, among others. These are issues we learn about not only from popular media, but through passionate women who get involved and dedicate a significant amount of their time everyday to make social change possible. Mom bloggers have leveled up, giving those in need a “voice” so they can be heard throughout the world.
On January 9th, 2012, Mom Bloggers for Social Good was officially launched, an effort initiated by founder Jennifer James. It is a 400-strong coalition of mothers across the United States, Canada, UK, India, Spain, Nigeria, Singapore, Netherlands, Malaysia, Jamaica, and the Philippines. I was fortunate enough to be invited to become one of the founding members.
I believe that social change can be done when people who believe in the causes of organizations to help others come together. If we can’t be there physically, we can still support these organizations carry out their mission by letting the ones we can reach know about them.
I am a Founding Member of Mom Bloggers for Social Good and proud of it!
